This medium sized
Kingfisher is, together with the White-throated Kingfisher, the
commonest in Malaysia and Singapore, and is found mainly at rivers,
large waterbodies, gardens, public parks and golf courses. They
do not rely on fish as their primary food but eat small reptiles
and large insects, and are rather noisy when feeding.
